Apart from being lots of fun, Scottish Ceilidh Dancing is also very energetic
and is a sure way for pupils and staff to keep fit whilst having a ball...literally.
Thistle Dubh Ceilidh Band & Disco have a huge repertoire of dances which are
guaranteed to fill the dance floor or gym hall from start to finish. If required, we are happy to
play to a set list of dances as long as they are provided a few weeks prior to your event.
All dances will be called on the night, so don't worry if you suffer from '2
left feet syndrome' as we'll walk and talk you through each Ceilidh dance to ensure that you have
the confidence to strutt your way through theGay
Gordons, Dashing White
Sergeant, Strip The Willow...and many
moreScottish Ceilidh
Dances.
Occasional, some of the novice dancers at our Ceilidh's lose their way a little
and generally get a wee bit confused about what they should do next...don't panic! Not only is this
a great ice breaker and source of great fun, but it's also a great way for pupils to learn that on
certain occasions, it's ok to make mistakes and laugh about it with their friends...after all, it's
not 'Strictly Come Dancing'...it's a School Ceilidh.
We are available to play during the day and in the evening and have played at many School Ceilidhs
in and around Glasgow over the years.
In addition to our Upbeat Scottish Ceilidh sound, we can also offer a Mobile Disco package included
FREE!

Dear Alistair,
Once again, we would like to thank you and the other members of the
Thistle Dubh Ceilidh Band &
Disco for playing at our Burns
Evening. Parents, pupils and staff had a wonderful evening and it made the
experience more unique by having a live band present. Your flexible approach was
much appreciated.
We have had extremely positive feedback from those who attended the
evening and we hope to make this a permanent event in future years.
We have enclosed some photos of the evening, as requested.
Many thanks,
Kerry Mcguinness, Head Teacher, Abronhill Primary School,
Cumbernauld (February 2010)

I just wanted to let you know how pleased we were with the Thistle Dubh Ceilidh band, for our
Primary 7 Leaver's Party last night. The children had a fantastic time. The band
were prompt, professional and pitched the entertainment just right and made the
evening really memorable for the children. Thank you!
